Lash Extension Information
What Are Eyelash Extensions?
Our individual eyelash extensions are made of synthetic mink fibres. You can choose them in a variety of curls, lengths and thicknesses. The look you want can be achieved with a combination of these styles. Eyelash extensions feel and look natural, and are sure to attract compliments.
How are they applied?
Eyelash extensions are applied individually to your existing eyelashes using a specialty glue. Application of the eyelash extensions normally takes between 1 and 2 hours.
How long will they last?
Eyelash extensions will typically last 3-4 weeks before a fill is required. At the time of a fill the extensions are again applied individually. Pricing for our fills depends on the time to the last application/fill, as this generally determines how many lashes must be applied.
Which styles do you offer?
Our lash artists can give you a variety of looks based on your desired look and feel. Classic lash extension application are a single extension placed on each lash. For Volume applications, our lash artists will create a "fan" of extensions with 2-12+ extensions. The fan is then applied to one natural lash. Our Hybrid applications are a combination of classic and volume, with some fans and some single extensions being applied. We also offer speciality applications like Ellipse, which are extensions that have a flat bottom, making them lighter and softer. We have a special style of volume extensions called Shadow, which have alternating lengths/curls in each fan. This creates a more naturally varying look across your lashes.
Are your lash artists certified?
Yes, our lash artists either have previous certification or are trained at our own Miyo Beauty Academy. As we are a salon as well as a training facility, our lash artists have ongoing support and education to ensure our clients are served with the best applications possible. All of our lash artists take great pride in the services offered and ensure you leave happy.

Lash After Care
It is imperative that the lashes be kept dry and away from moisture for the first 48 hours after application.
Do not use eye cream for those 24 hours. A warm bath is recommended since it lowers the percentage of steam and humidity that could affect the drying process of your lashes. After two days, you could resume your daily activities. Once dry, lash extensions are very versatile; they can accommodate to your lifestyle, even swimming and excessive exercise.
While mascara is not recommended, it may be used, as long as it is not waterproof since it can affect the adhesive bond, compromising the lifespan of your extensions. We carry special mascara that is made for lash extensions, and will not affect the bond of the lashes. It gives a full look when you want more emphasis for those special night out.
If powder or eye shadow dust gets on your lashes, simply wet your fingers and clean it off gently.
Do not use cotton swabs as they will get caught in the lashes and can be difficult to remove.
Do not pull, tug or rub your lashes. Do not try to remove your lashes, as it will cause your natural lashes to fall out and could potentially damage them. They can be professionally removed, just contact me.
To remove make-up, use an oil free make-up remover (Almay is a popular brand). Once in a while, you could clean your lashes with diluted baby shampoo (Johnson and Johnson or Life Brand works best)
Eye creams should be used sparingly, avoiding the upper eye area. The ingredients that contain oils could shorten the lasting term of the lashes.
Although curling the lashes isn't necessary, you can curl the lashes if you feel it's needed. I offer a heated eyelash curler which is great and will not crimp the lashes, or cause a break like manual one do.
Refills are recommended every 3-4 weeks depending on the life cycle of your natural lashes. To keep your lash extensions looking full, refills are needed as new lashes grow.
